Belotero Lips Contour is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic, colourless, transparent cross-linked sodium hyaluronate filler of non-animal origin, supplied in a physiological phosphate buffer and containing 0.3% lidocaine hydrochloride. It is an injectable biodegradable implant for lip enhancement, with the lidocaine included to reduce local pain associated with injection and to improve patient comfort.

Each 0.6 mL syringe contains cross-linked sodium hyaluronate 22.5 mg/ml and lidocaine hydrochloride 3.0 mg/ml in phosphate buffer at pH 7. It is placed in the superficial to mid-dermis for lip contour, perioral lines and moderate oral commissures, and submucosally or subcutaneously for lip enhancement. Professional use

This product is designed to be injected only by authorised healthcare practitioners who have appropriate training and experience and who are qualified or accredited in accordance with national law. Injection technique, plane, quantity and patient selection are determined by the treating practitioner, and the injection depth is specific to this grade and must not be inherited from another grade in the range.

Patient profile

Suitable for adult patients assessed as appropriate by the treating practitioner. The product is contra-indicated in cases of known hypersensitivity to any of its components, especially sodium hyaluronate, lidocaine hydrochloride, BDDE or other amide-type local anaesthetics; in pregnant and breast-feeding women; in patients under 18 years old; in patients presenting a general infection; and in patients presenting an active auto-immune disease. It must not be injected into blood vessels, into areas presenting cutaneous inflammation or infection of immunological, allergic, bacterial, fungal or viral origin, into an area previously treated with a permanent dermal filler, or into the glabellar or nose region. It must not be used in association with other aesthetic techniques such as peeling, dermabrasion or laser treatment before complete healing of the last treatment, and in no case earlier than two weeks after it. Particular care applies to patients taking anticoagulant, antiplatelet, thrombolytic or anti-inflammatory medication, and to patients pre-disposed to hypertrophic scars or keloids. Patient selection and suitability are determined by the practitioner at consultation.
