Restylane Kysse is an injectable medical device for administration only by licensed, appropriately trained healthcare practitioners in a controlled clinical setting, and is not for retail sale or self-administration. For lip augmentation it is injected into the submucosal layer of the lip, with care taken to avoid intramuscular injection; for the correction of perioral rhytids and the philtral column it is placed in the mid-dermis to subcutaneous layer. The dose should not exceed 1,5 ml per upper lip and 1,5 ml per lower lip per treatment, touch-up included, and the recommended maximum injected volume per patient per treatment, touch-up included, is 6 ml. Correct to 100% of the desired volume effect and do not overcorrect. Injecting too superficially may result in visible lumps or bluish discoloration, and it is recommended to change needle for each new treatment site. Introduction into the vasculature may lead to embolisation, occlusion of the vessels, ischaemia or infarction. If immediate blanching occurs the injection should be stopped and the area massaged until normal colour returns, since blanching may represent a vessel occlusion.
