It is not for retail sale to consumers and never for self-administration. It is indicated only for subcutaneous and upper-periosteal injection, or into the deep dermis, and the technique and depth of injection vary depending on the area to be treated; it is not recommended for intramuscular injection. It must not be injected in the periorbital area, meaning the eyelid, under-eye area and crow's feet, in the glabellar region, or in the lips. It must not be injected into blood vessels, since intravascular injection may lead to embolisation, occlusion of the vessels, ischaemia or infarction, and it must not be overcorrected. No more than 2 mL should be injected per treatment area during each session. The syringe must not be re-used or re-sterilised, and used needles and syringes must be disposed of in the appropriate containers.

The product must not be used in patients suffering from untreated epilepsy, patients who tend to develop hypertrophic scarring, patients with known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or to gram-positive bacterial proteins, patients with known hypersensitivity to lidocaine or to amide-type local anaesthetics, patients suffering from porphyria, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or children. It must not be used in areas presenting cutaneous inflammatory or infectious processes such as acne or herpes, and must not be used simultaneously with laser treatment, deep chemical peels or dermabrasion.
