Aquashine PTX

Aquashine PTX is an anti-age hyaluronic acid soft filler with biomimetic peptides, developed by the Caregen R&D Center and marketed in many territories under its earlier name, Aquashine BTX. It is intended to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds and to restore the shape of the face, and is designed for aged skin and for face and tissue remodelling. The manufacturer describes it as having the features of both a reconstructive and a relaxant agent, and its formulation is built around four areas of focus: myorelaxation, melanoregulation, hydration and rejuvenation. It is supplied as 2 x 2 mL pre-filled syringes and is CE marked 2265.

Professional use

For professional use. Aquashine PTX is administered by practitioners trained in injection technique, and is not for retail sale or self-administration. Its pharmacodynamic properties allow several techniques: microneedling; epidermal micro-papular injections at a needle depth of 1 mm; linear retrograde injection at 1.5 to 2 mm; micro bolus microinjections at 3 to 4 mm; and cannula technique at the depth of the subcutaneous tissue along arbitrary directions. The manufacturer's four-step remodelling protocol uses 2 cc per step: dermal injections with a 30-32G 4 mm needle at 0,05 cc per injection; intradermal muscle remodelling with a 30-31G 6-13 mm needle at 0,05 to 0,1 cc; ligament reposition with a 30-31G 13 mm needle at 0,1 to 0,2 cc; and vector lifting with a 25G 50 mm cannula.

Patient profile

For adult patients presenting with skin ageing, photodamage, dehydration, hyperpigmentation, couperosis, rosacea, scarring or stretch marks, as assessed by a qualified practitioner. It must not be used in pregnancy or during the lactation period, in the presence of skin infection, in patients with oncological diseases, or where there is intolerance to any component.
