Juvéderm Volbella

Juvéderm Volbella with Lidocaine is a hyaluronic acid injectable by Allergan Aesthetics, developed for the correction of fine lines, moderate skin depressions and lip enhancement. It is suitable for authorised medical practitioners for improving lip volume and contour and correcting appropriate facial depressions and volume loss. The product contains cross-linked hyaluronic acid at 15 mg/mL and 3 mg/mL of lidocaine hydrochloride and is intended for professional use. Each box contains two 1 mL pre-filled syringes, four single-use 32G 1/2" needles and traceability labels.

• Injected into the superficial or mid-dermis or the lip mucosa, and in the submuscular or pre-periosteal plane for the tear trough
• Cross-linked hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin, sterile and pyrogen-free
• Contains lidocaine, so no separate anaesthetic is needed at the injection site
• Each box holds two 1 mL syringes with four single-use 32G 1/2 inch needles and traceability labels
• The composition is compatible with fields used for magnetic resonance imaging

Juvéderm Volbella is an injectable medical device to be administered only by an authorised medical practitioner in a controlled clinical setting, and is not supplied for retail sale or self-administration. It is intended for intradermal injection for fine lines and moderate skin depressions, injection into the mucous membrane for the lips, and submuscular or pre-periosteal injection for the tear trough and infraorbital area. It must not be injected into the eyelids, and must not be injected into blood vessels, since intravascular injection may lead to embolisation, occlusion of the vessels, ischaemia or infarction; it must not be overcorrected. In patients with a pre-existing tendency for infraorbital oedema there is no clinical data for treatment in that region, and such patients must be warned of the potential increased risk of prolonged oedema. Volbella is not interchangeable with other Juvéderm references, which differ in hyaluronic acid concentration and intended depth.

For adult patients (18 years and over) assessed as suitable by the treating practitioner, typically those seeking subtle definition rather than pronounced volume. Selection, injected volume, plane and technique follow the practitioner's clinical assessment. Contraindications, warnings and limitations for use must be reviewed before treatment, including known hypersensitivity to any component. Treatment of the infraorbital area in particular requires assessment of skin thickness, fluid retention and vascular risk in that region, and is undertaken only by practitioners trained in that technique.
