Juvéderm Ultra 4

Juvéderm Ultra 4 is a hyaluronic acid injectable by Allergan Aesthetics, formulated for the correction of deeper skin depressions and facial volume enhancement. It is suitable for authorised medical practitioners for treating deeper facial depressions, enhancing the lips and augmenting the cheekbone area. The product contains cross-linked hyaluronic acid at 24 mg/mL and 3 mg/mL of lidocaine hydrochloride and is intended for professional use. Each box contains two 1 mL pre-filled syringes, four single-use 27G 1/2" needles and traceability labels.

Juvéderm Ultra 4 is an injectable medical device for administration exclusively by licensed, appropriately trained healthcare practitioners in a controlled clinical setting. It is not supplied for retail sale and never for self-administration. Deeper placement carries a correspondingly higher requirement for anatomical knowledge, particularly around the vasculature of the midface, and the injection plane, volume and technique are the practitioner's decision. It must not be injected in the periorbital area, meaning the eyelids, under-eye area and crow's feet, or in the glabellar region. It must not be injected into blood vessels, since intravascular injection may lead to embolisation, occlusion of the vessels, ischaemia or infarction, and it must not be overcorrected. It must not be used simultaneously with laser treatment, deep chemical peels or dermabrasion; for surface peels, injection is not recommended where the inflammatory reaction is significant. Ultra 4 must not be exchanged for Ultra 2 or Ultra 3, which are placed at different depths and supplied with different needles.

Perfil do paciente

For adult patients assessed as appropriate by the treating practitioner. Selection, injected volume, plane and technique follow clinical assessment by the practitioner. The product must not be used in patients suffering from untreated epilepsy, patients who tend to develop hypertrophic scarring, patients with known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or to gram-positive bacterial proteins, patients with known hypersensitivity to lidocaine or to amide-type local anaesthetics, patients suffering from porphyria, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or children. It must not be used in areas presenting cutaneous inflammatory or infectious processes such as acne or herpes.
