Belotero Lips Shape Lidocaine

Belotero Lips Shape Lidocaine by Merz Aesthetics is an injectable biodegradable implant for lip enhancement, a sterile, non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic, colourless and transparent filler of cross-linked sodium hyaluronate of non-animal origin. It is injected submucosally or subcutaneously into the lips and in the deep dermis for perioral lines and severe oral commissures, so it doubles as a perioral correction option rather than a lip volumiser alone. Each 0.6 mL syringe carries 25.5 mg/ml of cross-linked sodium hyaluronate and 3.0 mg/ml (0.3%) lidocaine hydrochloride in a physiological phosphate buffer at pH 7, with the lidocaine there to reduce local injection pain and improve patient comfort. This concentration is a per-grade value, not a range value: Belotero Lips Contour is 22.5 mg/ml in the same 0.6 mL pack and is placed more superficially, so the two must never be treated as interchangeable.

This product is designed to be injected only by authorised healthcare practitioners who have appropriate training and experience and who are qualified or accredited in accordance with national law. It is not for retail sale to consumers and not for self-application. Injection technique, plane, quantity and patient selection are determined by the treating practitioner, and the injection depth is specific to this grade and must not be inherited from another grade in the range.

Профиль пациента

Suitable for adult patients assessed as appropriate by the treating practitioner. The product is contra-indicated in cases of known hypersensitivity to any of its components, especially sodium hyaluronate, lidocaine hydrochloride, BDDE or other amide-type local anaesthetics; in pregnant and breast-feeding women; in patients under 18 years old; in patients presenting a general infection; and in patients presenting an active auto-immune disease. It must not be injected into blood vessels, into areas presenting cutaneous inflammation or infection of immunological, allergic, bacterial, fungal or viral origin, into an area previously treated with a permanent dermal filler, or into the glabellar or nose region. It must not be used in association with other aesthetic techniques such as peeling, dermabrasion or laser treatment before complete healing of the last treatment, and in no case earlier than two weeks after it. Particular care applies to patients taking anticoagulant, antiplatelet, thrombolytic or anti-inflammatory medication, and to patients pre-disposed to hypertrophic scars or keloids. Patient selection and suitability are determined by the practitioner at consultation.
