Juvéderm Volux

Juvéderm Volux is a hyaluronic acid injectable by Allergan Aesthetics, developed to create and restore facial volume and definition. It is suitable for authorised medical practitioners for structural facial contouring and volume correction in appropriate treatment areas. The product contains cross-linked hyaluronic acid at 25 mg/mL and 3 mg/mL of lidocaine hydrochloride in a phosphate buffer at pH 7.2 and is intended for professional use. Each box contains two 1 mL pre-filled syringes, four single-use 27G 1/2" needles and traceability labels.

Juvéderm Volux is an injectable medical device supplied for administration by licensed, appropriately trained healthcare practitioners in a controlled clinical setting. It is not for retail sale to consumers and never for self-administration. It is indicated only for subcutaneous and supraperiosteal injection, and the technique and depth of injection vary depending on the area to be treated; it is not recommended for intramuscular injection. It must not be injected in the periorbital area, meaning the eyelid, under-eye area and crow's feet, in the glabellar region, or in the lips. It must not be injected into blood vessels, since intravascular injection may lead to embolisation, occlusion of the vessels, ischaemia or infarction, and it must not be overcorrected. No more than 2 mL should be injected per treatment area during each session. There is no controlled clinical data on effectiveness and tolerance in anatomic regions other than the chin and jawline, and practitioners should be aware of the increased risk of vascular compromise in the non-midline areas of the nose and the nasal tip.

Perfil do paciente

For adult patients assessed as suitable by the treating practitioner. Selection, injected volume, plane and technique follow clinical assessment by the practitioner. The product must not be used in patients suffering from untreated epilepsy, patients who tend to develop hypertrophic scarring, patients with known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or to gram-positive bacterial proteins, patients with known hypersensitivity to lidocaine or to amide-type local anaesthetics, patients suffering from porphyria, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or children. It must not be used in areas presenting cutaneous inflammatory or infectious processes such as acne or herpes, and should not be used simultaneously with laser treatment, deep chemical peels or dermabrasion. For surface peels, it is recommended not to inject the product if the inflammatory reaction generated is significant.
