Restylane Defyne Lidocaine is a firmer hyaluronic acid filler, created to correct deep facial wrinkles and folds while still supporting natural expression. It is applied to the nasolabial folds and marionette lines. The clear, homogeneous gel is crosslinked sodium hyaluronate at 20 mg/mL with 3 mg/mL lidocaine hydrochloride and is intended for professional use only.

Restylane Defyne Lidocaine is an injectable medical device for administration exclusively by licensed, appropriately trained healthcare practitioners in a controlled clinical setting, and is not for retail sale or self-administration. It is intended for injection into the mid to deep dermis for the correction of severe facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. At a single treatment session, a total volume of 2 ml per nasolabial fold is recommended, and 1 ml for marionette lines. It must not be injected intramuscularly or intravascularly; introduction into the vasculature may lead to embolisation, occlusion of the vessels, ischaemia, or infarction. Injection too superficially, or in facial areas with limited soft tissue support or cover, or thin skin such as the periorbital area, may result in contour irregularities, palpable lumps, or bluish discoloration.

Perfil do paciente

For adult patients assessed as suitable by the treating practitioner. Patient selection, injected volume, plane and technique follow the practitioner's clinical assessment. Because the gel contains lidocaine hydrochloride 3 mg/mL, patients with known hypersensitivity to lidocaine or to amide-type local anaesthetics must not receive it. It must not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to streptococcal proteins, since the gel may contain trace amounts of such material, in patients with severe allergies manifested by a history of anaphylaxis or a history or presence of multiple severe allergies, or in patients presenting with porphyria. It should be used with caution in patients on immunosuppressive therapy and in patients with a tendency to form hypertrophic scars or other healing disorders. Use should be avoided at sites with active disease, such as inflammation, infection or tumours, until the underlying process has been controlled.
