Viscoderm 2.0

Viscoderm 2.0 is a sterile injectable medical device manufactured by IBSA Farmaceutici Italia S.r.l. It contains 20 mg/ml of highly purified sodium hyaluronate obtained through fermentation and is intended for intradermal administration by qualified healthcare professionals. It is indicated for restoring the normal physiological condition of the dermis in cases of severe xerodermia associated with dermatitis and/or psoriasis.

Usage professionnel

Viscoderm 2.0 is a sterile, single-use medical device for intradermal use, to be sold on medical prescription only and administered by intradermal injection by qualified personnel only. It is injected at ambient temperature under strict aseptic conditions, intradermally at medium-deep level using a linear or picotage technique, with the 30G x 1/2 inch (0.3 x 12 mm) needle included in the kit. The recommended posology is an initial cycle of three treatment sessions at one-week intervals, possibly followed by monthly maintenance sessions. Do not inject intravascularly, into the muscles or tendons, or for breast enlargement. Do not mix with other products, and do not mix with disinfectants such as quaternary ammonium salts or chlorhexidine, as a precipitate may form. The content of the pre-filled syringe is sterile and the outer surface of the syringe is not; do not use after the expiry date or if the packaging is open or damaged. Do not re-sterilise and do not reuse. Once opened, use immediately and discard after use.

Profil du patient

Viscoderm 2.0 is indicated for adults of both sexes. The device restores the normal physiological condition of the dermis in cases of xerodermia related to dermatitis and/or psoriasis, and the 2.0% concentration is indicated to counteract severe xerodermia. Suitability is determined by the treating practitioner. The injection site must be on healthy skin. It must not be used in pregnant or breast-feeding women, in patients with autoimmune diseases, or in cases of known hypersensitivity or allergy to the components of the product. It must not be used in conjunction with treatments such as laser resurfacing and medium-deep peeling, and must not be injected into areas where inflammatory processes are present.
