Teosyal RHA 2

TEOSYAL RHA 2 is a sterile, transparent, non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic hyaluronic acid filler of non-animal origin from Teoxane SA in Geneva, with a mean molecular weight above 1 million Dalton. It is cross-linked with BDDE and contains 0.3% by mass of lidocaine hydrochloride.

At 23 mg/mL it is indicated for the correction of facial wrinkles and skin creases and to augment the volume of facial tissues, across the upper face, periorbital, midface and perioral regions. Each box contains two pre-filled syringes, each with two sterile 30G 1/2 inch needles and two traceability labels.

Professional use

TEOSYAL RHA 2 is only to be administered by appropriately trained healthcare professionals who are qualified or accredited in accordance with national law, and is not for retail sale or self-administration. It is injected slowly at variable depths depending on the area treated: into the dermis, subcutaneously, onto the supraperiosteum, or into the subdermis or the submucosa of the red lips. It must not be injected into the epidermis, into or close to a blood vessel, close to a nerve, or at depths other than those described. Depending on the correction required, one or more treatment sessions or a touch-up may be needed to reach an optimal result.

Patient profile

For adults assessed as suitable by the treating practitioner. It must not be used in patients with cutaneous disorders, inflammation or infection at or near the treatment site, since injection procedures can lead to reactivation of latent or subclinical herpes viral infection. It must also not be used in patients with a known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid with a history of severe allergy or anaphylactic shock, in patients with autoimmune diseases, or in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Because of the lidocaine content it must not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to lidocaine or to amide local anaesthetics, in patients with cardiac diseases or undergoing treatment for heart disease (beta blockers), in patients with hepatocellular insufficiency or undergoing treatment for a liver disease, or in patients with epilepsy or porphyria. It must not be used in combination with other aesthetic procedures such as peeling, laser treatment or ultrasound-based treatment.
