Saypha Filler is a sterile, biodegradable, viscoelastic injectable gel implant from Croma-Pharma in Austria, clear, transparent, isotonic and homogenised, designed for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds and for increasing lip volume. Practitioners inject it into the mid to deep dermis. The gel contains cross-linked hyaluronic acid obtained from Streptococcus equi bacteria at 23 mg/ml in a physiologic phosphate buffer at pH 6.8 to 7.4 with sodium chloride, has no anaesthetic and is for professional use. Each box holds one pre-filled 1.0 ml syringe, two 27G 1/2 inch disposable sterile needles and two batch-number labels for traceability.

Saypha Filler must only be used by doctors who have received specific training in the injection technique for filling wrinkles, and is not for retail sale or self-administration. It is injected into the mid to deep dermis. It must not be used in areas presenting cutaneous, inflammatory or infectious processes such as acne or herpes, and must not be used in association with laser therapy, chemical peeling, dermabrasion or mesotherapy. Several sessions are preferable to injecting high volumes in one session. Do not use any needle or syringe other than those provided, do not bend the needle, and do not re-use the syringe.

For adult patients assessed as suitable by the treating practitioner. This reference contains no anaesthetic, so anaesthesia is controlled separately if required; sensitive skin may be pre-treated with a local anaesthetic patch or cream. It must not be used in patients who tend to develop hypertrophic scars, have pigment disorders or a susceptibility to keloid formation, in patients with a history of autoimmune disease or receiving immune therapy, in patients known to be hypersensitive to hyaluronic acid, in patients who have previously received permanent fillers in the area to be treated, in pregnant or breastfeeding women, or in patients under 18 years of age. Patients on anticoagulants or receiving platelet aggregation inhibitors such as acetylsalicylic acid should not be treated without consulting their doctors.

Saypha Filler works through cross-linked hyaluronic acid at 23 mg/ml, placed in the mid to deep dermis where it adds volume and lifts the overlying tissue to correct moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. The hyaluronic acid is of non-animal origin, obtained by bacterial fermentation from Streptococcus equi. Cross-linking is what separates this reference from a hydrating skin booster such as Saypha Rich: the cross-linked network resists breakdown and holds its shape in tissue, which is what allows it to fill a fold rather than simply hydrate the skin.

Both carry sodium hyaluronate at 23 mg/ml with 27G 1/2 inch needles, but the gels differ in cross-linking and placement. Saypha Filler is cross-linked and goes into the mid to deep dermis for moderate to severe wrinkles and folds and for lip volume. Saypha Volume is highly cross-linked and goes into the deep dermis or subcutis to correct deeper wrinkles, restore facial volume and remodel contours.
How does Saypha Filler differ from Saypha Filler Lidocaine?
The gel concentration is the same at 23 mg/ml. Saypha Filler Lidocaine adds lidocaine hydrochloride 0.3% for injection comfort and is injected into the mid to deep dermis or submucosa. Where lidocaine is contraindicated, this plain reference is the one to order.
